Government Funding & Tax-Free Childcare

Government-Funded Childcare

Storybook Sunningdale is proud to offer 15 or 30 hours of funded childcare for eligible families. From September 2025, children from 9 months old in England with working parents can receive up to 30 hours of free childcare per week over 38 weeks, a total of 1,140 hours per year if eligible.

In order to qualify for this funding, both parents must be working (or one parent in the case of single parent families) and earning under £100,000 per year. Funding can start from the term after your child reaches 9 months of age.

All three year olds are eligible for 15 hours of funding from the term after their third birthday unless they already receive the 30 hours of working parents funding.

Tax-Free Childcare

  • Tax-Free Childcare helps working parents with childcare costs. For every £8 paid, the government adds £2, up to £2,000 per child per year (or £4,000 for children with disabilities). All eligible children under 12 (or under 17 with disabilities), including adopted children, can be included.
  • When registering your child, please notify us if you will be using Tax-Free Childcare, either as full or part payment of fees. More information is available at www.beststartinlife.gov.uk 
  • Please note: Tax-Free Childcare cannot be used for registration fees or refundable deposits.
